External Examiner teaching morning 20/11/11

Our external examiner Sensei Steve Pinfold, assisted by Sensei Alice both from Shim’s Way Ju-Jitsu Academy in Dover, Kent, conducted an extremely enjoyable and informative lesson on Sunday 20th November. One element of the lesson was focused on gun disarm techniques which our Academy plans on introducing into the syllabus over the coming months. Regrettably, gun crime is on the increase and whilst no one wishes to be held at gun point and recognising it is paramount to conform, hand over what is being demanded and take no action unless you have no other chance of staying alive. If the attacker is about to kill you, any action, even one involving considerable risk can only improve chances of survival. Due to obvious risks involved in self-defense actions against a gun, any actions must never be performed solely on a basis of theoretical knowledge but only after extensive, repeated practice. Therefore gun disarmed techniques will be incorporated in the Academies weapons disarm/defence teaching module. (See Gallery tab for photos)
